1:32PM - Jump Starting
Hello, new members! I'm Pachelbel, your friendly founder.
I was thinking of having a set of short writing exercises posted once a week that we could all participate in, to help "limber up" before writing.
I'd choose a different exercise and maybe a different article about writing, and post it every Sunday so that we'd all have the rest of the week to work on it. Then we'd post what we ended up with here, whether it was two words or two pages, offer some feedback, and do it all again the next week. That would be in addition to asking for feedback on the more serious writing we all do (serious as in, things we want to polish and present, be it fanfiction or short stories or essays.)
What do you think?

8:53AM - Persuasive Writing
Hiyo, I'm a new member here. I'm sorry for joining kind of haphazardously. I was directed here from interests and I created this journal particularly for my College Composition class I'm taking for dual credit at the Texas Community College in Hurst, TX.
Throughout the semester we've been working on various essay types. My last one was an exploratory essay, and this time around I'm working on a persuasive essay.
Since it's such a large issue right now, I thought I would do a paper supporting gay marriage.
If anybody has any kind of helpful advice, I'd really appreciate it. I always have a really tidious time starting out. ^^;
This looks like such a close-knit community. I really hope it's alright for me to start posting like this.

I guess if we've got terrible writer's block we could always visit the Random Fanfic Generator.
It has everything. Here's some proof:
This fanfic is about Uchiha Itachi (Naruto) fighting the cast of O.C. with an army of clones. Important to the plot: The Frozen Fire.
This fanfic is about Mr. K (Gravitation) trying to kill J. Jonah Jameson (Spider-Man).
This fanfic is about Patrick Harper (Sharpe) shopping with Angelo Espinosa (X-Men). Miss Scarlet (Clue) helps out with a donation of money.

8:45PM - Writer's Block
I was thinking for this week (...yes, I'm going to try to do something slightly different each week, at least so that something gets posted here) we'd choose a story that's been "blocked up" for a while and see what sort of advice or thoughts it brings up. Sometimes it helps to respark inspiration just by having it edited, you know?
